Gem Mine Field Trip
Gem mining, and historical attractions nestled deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
All group tours include:
the Mining Museum Mine tour
the Discovery Mill tour
A gemstone bucket.
Each group member also gets a color gem identification chart and a free piece of Mica.
Group Rates (20+ paying guests)- Adults $21.35, Ages 5-12 $16.02, 4 and under FREE.
Regular Rates- Adults $31, Ages 5-12 $23, 4 and under- FREE.

Trail + River Play
Connelly Springs, NC @10am
This trail is an easy, mostly flat path following the Jacob Fork River. This trail is all terrain stroller friendly or wagon. The river has easy access from the trail, so make sure you and your child are properly attired for water play and have a change of clothes for after the hike. We will picnic either on the trail or at the picnic tables so pack a lunch.

Beach Swimming Adventure
Join us on this beach swimming adventure on Lake James!
**We are checking frequently in hopes it will be open for our adventure. Stay tuned on Instagram for location changes in the case it is still closed.
What to Bring:

Hike Adventure
Join us on this moderate hiking adventure in Linville, NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This is a short, rocky hike with consistent elevation gain. Large rock overlooks with stunning views.
Not stroller-friendly.
Pack water & plenty of snacks as there is not a great place for a group to sit and picnic.
Please arrive on-time, because parking is limited and this is a popular trail.

Enjoy spectacular mountain views of Grandfather Mountain and Linn Cove Viaduct, with distant views into the Piedmont, from the hike on Rough Ridge.
This 1.2-mile out-and-back trail is generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 43 min to complete.
We encourage hiking carries for our littlest adventurers. Pack snacks for the trail and lunch for the car ride home.

Moses H Cone hike
Join us on this 2.7mi hike. The trail features a moderately steep climb up to a lake. Once you reach the lake, the trail flattens out, providing a pleasant walk with panoramic mountain views.
Bring/Wear: Water, hiking shoes, child carriers, snacks, picnic lunch.

South Mountains hike
Join us on this new local hike, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina has opened a new public hiking trail on its South Mountains Headwaters Preserve property in Burke County. This 1.3-mile moderate hiking-only trail features two overlooks for hikers to enjoy views of the South Mountains. The trailhead and parking area is located on Old NC-18, just south of Sugarloaf Road and north of Baptist Camp Road, approximately 20 minutes from downtown Morganton. Pack snacks to enjoy on the trial and a picnic lunch to enjoy after the hike!

Lake James hike
Join us on this great local hike at our Lake James State Park. This hike is a great hike for littles, we recommend hiking carries for your littlest hikers.
It is manageable for your kiddos 2yrs and up.
Pack a snack to enjoy on the trail with the kids and a picnic lunch for after the adventure.

Hike In Hickory
A 1.5-mile beginner-friendly loop
that’s great for all ages. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 41 min to complete.
All-terrain strollers or hiking carriers would be great for this trail.

Join us for this short 0.7mi hike on a rocky and root-covered trail culminating at two beautiful rock overlooks.
Bring snacks, water, and a picnic lunch to enjoy at the overlooks.
This trail is not stroller-friendly so bring those hiking packs for your littles.

Join us for this 2.3-mile loop trail. generally considered a moderately challenging route. It takes an average of 52 minutes to complete. We will get as far as the kiddos will let us, snack, turn back, and enjoy a picnic near the trailhead. This trail is great for hiking, mountain biking, and running. Pack snacks and a Picnic Lunch to enjoy along the trail.

McGalliard Falls Park
Join us as we explore The McGalliard Creek bridge. This walk will be doable for your little one but is stroller-friendly after one flight of stairs. This 1 mile out and back trail is generally considered an easy route, it table an average of 25 mins to complete. we will enjoy a picnic and let the kiddos play.
